Before the Freelance became one of Hazard 4's most recognized camera and drone bags, it started here.

This is Prototype 1 — the very first functional development sample created during the Freelance design process. It was used to determine the overall dimensions, pocket layout, compartment configuration, carry ergonomics, and logo placement that would eventually shape the production version.

Unlike a finished retail product, this prototype still carries evidence of its development journey. Close inspection reveals original designer markings, hand-drawn notes, layout references, and design indicators used during the development process as the team refined the platform. These details make it a rare snapshot of product development that collectors and long-time Hazard 4 enthusiasts rarely get to see.

You can still see sketches, notes, and markings directly on the pack—capturing real design decisions as they were being worked out. From pocket sizing and compartment placement to branding and overall configuration, this prototype documents the evolution of a product that would later become a customer favorite.
