rotatable backpack

The backpack version of our versatile Sidewinder™ sling-pack, this unique pro-quality day-pack has generous size to accommodate laptops in its padded retainer, yet is nimble enough to be rotated from back to chest. Common to all our slings, such as the Evac™ series, this maneuver gives on-the-go access to frequently used gear while carrying heavier loads on the back the rest of the time. It's also more secure in crowds etc., since you can keep it in sight and allows users to sit back in tight quarters such as ski lifts, or in vehicle interiors, etc. The generously padded and ventilated shoulder straps are also ergonomically cut for hours of comfortable wear per day, and it is covered in modular (MOLLE compatible) webbing to attach pouches for phones, etc. at hand's reach. Generous side modular webbing provides lots of expansion options and the thermoformed best-in-class moulded back panel provides variable rigidity, air ventilation, and a durable surface. A drop-down fast access gear organizer can also hold an iPad® sized tablet like a shelf and the main compartment is lined in fuzzy loop for attaching dividers, patches or Hazard 4® holsters. Wherever and however hard core your work or play, the Second Front's got your back, and your front.

Instruction/Care

Never use a washer or a dryer to clean/dry your pack. Be sure to empty all pockets, shake out dirt and debris. Soak your Hazard 4® bag in lukewarm water with mild detergent for 10-15 minutes and swish it vigorously. Use clean sponge, cloth to clean dirty spots. Use a clean small and soft brush such as a toothbrush to scrub clogged zipper teeth or pocket corners - be very gentle so you don't damage any coating or finish. Rinse thoroughly to remove any detergent residue. Dry all metal parts completely as quickly as possible. Use a lubricant made for zippers to improve zipper slide. Invert your pack inside out and hang it to dry in shade. DO NOT place it in direct sunlight as UV light can degrade and discolor the fabric.

Endless Uses

I've been able to use this bag for many different things, such as a gym bag, media gear bag, or book bag for class. I find the straps to be very comfortable. The bag does take some work to dry out if wet. I have worn a bladder under it for a short hike and didn't find it uncomfortable, but I plan to find a way to mount it to the bag for longer distances.

Great Bag after 2 years of adventure

(this review is for the original version of the bag, before the hard point system) Im a traveler and so far ive taken this bag with me to 8 different national parks and through countless days of study, work, and play and its held up to it all wonderfully. I would absolutely recommend this bag to a friend (infact I have) but I do have a warning about the new (with the hard point system) version of the bag. One of the things I like the most about my version is that the hip belt has several mole attachment areas on it which are great for securing the Hazard 4 camera bags etc while im hiking. In this new version they have taken those mole attachment areas away so be warned of that. Overall this bag is incredible and holds up very well to the test of time and travel. Not a fan of new belt design.

Great Products but it has some Cons

Very strong, water resistant and well made. the only real con I have is the air flow system on the rear of the pack does nothing at all, as soon as I put the pack on I start to get very warm along the straps and rear of the bag. I would love to see a Hazard 4 bag with a frame.
