evac™ series

urban sling pack

Being jammed in confined spaces for hours is an unfortunate part of the business for many professionals we serve. Whether it’s a military unit in an a.p.c., a pilot in a cockpit, drivers in a HumVee, or a journalist in the back of a goat truck, they all have to bring their gear. And they all may need to ‘relocate’ in a hurry. This is the environment for which our Evac™line of sling packs has been geared. They are slim shaped to be easily manoeuvred in crowds, or stored in vehicles/lockers, and are quick to take on or off. They are also ambidextrous, and unlike others in this class, are actually comfortable on the shoulder; The bottom strap clips from either the right or left lower corner and the padded section realigns itself ergonomically in the correct body-hugging direction. The bag can be rotated to the chest for on-the-go access, and all pockets are designed to face the user in this mode on either the right or left side. One-strap-carry also makes shouldering a long-gun comfortable - unlike a backpack.

Instruction/Care

Never use a washer or a dryer to clean/dry your pack. Be sure to empty all pockets, shake out dirt and debris. Soak your Hazard 4® bag in lukewarm water with mild detergent for 10-15 minutes and swish it vigorously. Use clean sponge, cloth to clean dirty spots. Use a clean small and soft brush such as a toothbrush to scrub clogged zipper teeth or pocket corners - be very gentle so you don't damage any coating or finish. Rinse thoroughly to remove any detergent residue. Dry all metal parts completely as quickly as possible. Use a lubricant made for zippers to improve zipper slide. Invert your pack inside out and hang it to dry in shade. DO NOT place it in direct sunlight as UV light can degrade and discolor the fabric.

Perfection!!

I actually bought my Urban Rocket 17 Via Amazon and couldn’t be more pleased at how comfortable and easy to carry this Bag is. I’m an Old broken DAV and have many many issues with mobility and needed a Tackle Bag actually and came across this bag after researching for days and have to say I’m able to sling and carry this with ease. I am pissed that Amazon dropped the price by 8 bucks one day after I ordered my Bag. It was Sold by Hazard 4 though just shipped by Amazon. I am getting the Watson soon hopefully and some Hazard 4 SWAG to advertise hopefully also. Semper Fidelis Guys

Loved first, getting rid of it after

I absolutely loved the pack overall. Now I've been using it for more than 6 months and here is a huge list of design flaws collected. First of all - the advertised size of the pack. Hazard4 guys know this pack is small and they keep actual volume in a secret. Check the specs: full capacity of the pack is calculated using external measurments (width with lower pockets by height with carry handles by depth with front pockets that don't cover all the area of the pack). My measurements of the main compartment between seams lead to 9 liter volume plus about 5 liters total of all four external pockets. It gives me 15 liters capacity at best. The practice volume is even smaller, just a quick example: most likely you won't carry anything with your 32oz bottle into the side pouch, wich is larger, so you lose about 0.5 liter of volume that way. The large front pouch has weak admin function. The 2-way vallet is fine, but I wasn't able to comfortably fit standart size pen in vertical pockets. Also these pockets are too deep for lighter, small multitool or flashlight so have to dig in them to find it. The upper pouch of the pack is a bit small to easily hold a sunglasses case. I keep putting the case there diagonaly anyway. Just wish it was a half or full inch higher and wider. The lower cargo strap is totally useless as advertised. If I tight something stiff with it (say goretex bivy cover, self-inflatable mat or tent with poles rolled in it) the package will fell off in some minutes of walking with the pack. Tightening a jacket maybe is OK but I'm afraid to loose it that's why I never use this strap to carry anything under the pack. It works as a compression strap, but it's too bulky to serve that purpose. I wish there were some PALS provision below the pack to attach an utility pouch or a waist bag, or just to be able to hold two removable 1inch straps with buckles. That should hold a roll. Main compartment is fine, but it has the most impact from overestimating the volume of the pack. Make it one PALS loop deeper, half of inch wider (I had some problems with my Source bladder fitting in its compartment because of the wide plastic clip that holds its upper end shut) and 2 inch higher. And the last and most important note is the single strap design. Sling style is the first reason why I bought the pack and you guys did a great job to reduse its disadvantages. Strap is large, soft, meshed. Cool. But still it is a single strapper and very soon I discovered that if carry 15 pounds in the pack I will be extremely tired by the afternoon. Also impossible to run with this pack even with stabilizing strap fastened- it just bounces as hell. So my needs are of a two-strapper pack, larger in volume and more organized inside, with comression straps below allowing to securely carry a roll. I see the Plan C made some steps toward my perfect pack but still have some cons. Maybe I will answer the call of the design and try the Plan C for now. Keep moving.

Good investment

I bought this pack 4 years ago. I did not regret my purchase ever since. Despite the normal wear and tear from the every day use plus a few camping and international trips. A great travel companion. Amazing quality and good prize from strangers who like what they see. Keep up with the amazing job guys.

Cool bag

This bag is great! During the days for my Karate training, I'll stuff my Gi, sparring gloves and lecture notes in(I usually go for training right after school). And they surprisingly fit well! Although there isn't anymore space for my umbrella(And my umbrella is slightly too long to fit inside the side compartments LOL!!). Would be great if they can increase the width of this bag~ All in all, I love this bag and would recommend you to get it as well!
