Airstrike V3 – Nearing Production

The Airstrike V3 represents one of the final prototype stages before the Airstrike MK2 was approved for production. Released through TACO Tuesday directly from the Hazard 4® archive, this rare development piece captures the Airstrike platform at a point where the major design elements had largely been finalized and the focus had shifted toward refining details, validating accessories, and preparing the product for manufacturing.

Unlike the earlier Airstrike prototypes, the V3 is remarkably close to the production-ready vision. The signature thermoformed protective shell, integrated roller system, backpack conversion capability, and overall form factor had already matured into the configuration that would eventually become the Airstrike MK2. As a result, this prototype offers a rare look at the Airstrike just before it crossed the finish line into production.

One of the most significant aspects of the Airstrike V3 is its role in the development of the HardPoint® Anchor Plug system. The bright orange plugs visible throughout the shell are 3D-printed plastic development prototypes used during the final stages of the Anchor Plug program. By this point, the project had already undergone years of refinement, and the Airstrike V3 became one of the platforms used to evaluate final decisions regarding shape, dimensions, engagement geometry, grip features, retention strength, appearance, and user experience.

While today's patent-pending HardPoint® Anchor Plugs are manufactured using precision injection molding, these 3D-printed samples allowed the design team to rapidly test, revise, and validate concepts before investing in production tooling. Many of the features found in the final retail product were refined and confirmed during this stage of development. The result is a prototype that documents not only the evolution of the Airstrike itself, but also the final maturation of one of Hazard 4's most distinctive accessory systems.

Beyond its development significance, the Airstrike V3 retains the signature thermoformed protective shell, integrated telescoping roller handle, and spacious organizational layout that define the Airstrike series. Designed to function as both a backpack and rolling travel platform, it provides protected storage for electronics, travel essentials, tools, and valuable equipment while maintaining the rugged utility-focused DNA Hazard 4 is known for.

This particular unit represents a genuine Hazard 4 archive prototype and is not a production model. Cosmetic wear, age-related imperfections, prototype-specific features, and configuration differences may be present. Please review all photos carefully for exact condition and included features.
